John passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 after receiving end of life palliative sedation. John had a deep love for the Gloucester soccer community, for whom he left this final message, "Every living thing must die. Now it is my turn. I just want you to know that I am ok with this. Thank you for the life we have shared."

John's impact on the club is well known. This post which appeared upon John's retirement as Gloucester registrar gives some idea of his immense contributions as a teammate, volunteer and a soccer innovator. However, it does not describe the full measure of someone who was a true gentleman, respected by all who knew him.

To John's dear wife Jean, and sons David and Michael, we offer our deepest condolences. Thank you for having shared your remarkable husband and father with us. May he rest in peace.
